The Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Agusan del Sur, in collaboration with Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Rosario, officially launched the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) during the LGU Rosario flag-raising ceremony on February 3, 2025. This year’s celebration carries the theme, "Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-Fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System."
The event was attended by PSA officials, civil registrars, LGU Rosario employees, and various stakeholders. In his speech, Hon. Eduardo De Paz, Municipal Vice Mayor, emphasized the importance of CRM in ensuring every Filipino has access to timely and accurate civil registration services. Likewise, Chief Statistical Specialist Demetrio T. Dejolde underscored that a strong civil registration system is essential for governance, planning, and protecting individual rights. He reaffirmed PSA’s commitment to improving services and making civil registration more accessible to all.
As part of the opening ceremony, PSA Agusan del Sur facilitated an interactive trivia challenge focused on civil registration laws, procedures, and the vital role of the CRVS system in national development. Participants from LCROs, LGU employees, and the local community enthusiastically joined, demonstrating their knowledge and gaining insights into civil registration. Winners received prizes for their participation.
Throughout February 2025, PSA, LCROs, and LGU Rosario will continue promoting civil registration awareness through mobile registration services, public information campaigns, and intensified registration efforts. Additionally, PSA Agusan del Sur will open the CRS Outlet in San Francisco to further improve accessibility. The public is encouraged to actively participate in CRM 2025 activities and take advantage of these services to ensure proper documentation of life events.
