In celebration of the 47th National Disability Rights (NDR) Week, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Dinagat Islands joined the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Loreto and the Persons with Disability (PWD) sector in an inclusive community activity held on July 18, 2025, at the Maximo Omandam Sports Complex, Carmen, Loreto, Dinagat Islands.
The event was conducted in line with Proclamation No. 597, s. 2024, with this year’s theme: “Innovation for Inclusion: Building Inclusive Communities Together.” The activity was spearheaded by MSWDO Officer Bless A. Pabito, RSW, and PWD Focal Person Nony M. Daguinod, in close coordination with local PWD organizations.
The PSA-Dinagat Islands actively participated by providing PhilSys (National ID) registration services, making the event more accessible and meaningful to PWD members. The agency’s presence aimed to support the goal of inclusive service delivery, ensuring that all citizens, including those with disabilities, are given equal opportunity to access government programs and identification services.
Additionally, one of the highlights of the event was an informational session on Republic Act 7277, also known as the “Magna Carta for Disabled Persons”, which was delivered to help raise awareness, inform stakeholders, and empower PWD members regarding their rights and privileges under the law.
The event was met with enthusiastic participation from the PWD sector and stakeholders, highlighting a shared commitment to breaking barriers and building communities where everyone can thrive with dignity and equality.
