Turnover of Certificates of Live Births in Security Paper to BRAP Beneficiaries in Surigao City

13 August 2024 – CITY OF SURIGAO. In coordination with the City Government of Surigao, 324 Certificates of Live Births in Security Paper (SECPA) were awarded to beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP).

BRAP is a joint project of PSA and Local Government Units through the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) that primarily aims to increase the rate of birth registration, especially among marginalized communities.

This is a significant milestone that PSA prioritizes to ensure that all Filipino births are registered in the LCROs. Among the 324 BRAP beneficiaries in Surigao City, 54 were senior citizens, of which the oldest is 87 years old and resides in Barangay Zaragoza, Surigao City.
