PSA Caraga - PhilSys Registration Expands to Filipino Children Aged 1 to 4
In line with its commitment to providing an inclusive, secure, and sustainable National Identification System, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Caraga starts its implementation of Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration for Filipino children aged 1 to 4 years old on February 14, 2024.
As of May 17, 2024, a total of 26,481 children were registered in the region, with Agusan del Norte recording the highest number at 10,573 registrations, followed by Agusan del Sur with 9,043, Surigao del Norte with 3,663, Surigao del Sur with 2,514, and Dinagat Islands with 688 registrations.
The initiative aims to ensure that every Filipino child has access to a secure and reliable form of identification from an early age. By including children in the PhilSys registry, the PSA seeks to strengthen identity verification processes, enhance access to government services, and promote the overall welfare of Filipino families.
Parents or guardians who are already PhilSys-registered can now bring their children aged 1 to 4 to the nearest registration centers or in the scheduled community mobile registration in their area and bring their PhilID or ePhilID card since child's PhilSys Number (PSN) will be linked to the accompanying parent or guardian's PSN for easier identification and management.
Any of the following supporting documents may be presented to validate the demographic information of the child:
(1) Certificate of Live Birth issued by the PSA or the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO); (2) Report of Birth issued by the PSA or Philippine Foreign Service Post (PFSP); (3) Certificate of Foundling issued by the PSA; (4) Certificate of Foundling or Certificate of Live Birth or Persons with No Known Parent/s issued by the PSA; (5) Municipal Form No. 102; (6) Philippine Passport or ePassport issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA); or (7) any document showing the full name of the child, date and place of birth, the full name of the mother, and the full name of the father, if acknowledged.
Currently, only a front-facing photograph will be captured. Once the child reaches the age of five, their complete biometric information, including fingerprints and iris scan, will be collected along with an updated front-facing photograph.
