A significant milestone for Agusanons was marked on February 14, 2025, with the official opening of the Civil Registration System (CRS) Outlet San Francisco of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Agusan del Sur. Located in Gaisano Capital, Barangay 4, San Francisco, this new outlet brings civil registration services closer to all Agusanons and its nearby communities.
The inauguration of the CRS Outlet was celebrated with a blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by key stakeholders from various Local Government Units in Agusan del Sur. The event was led by Engr. Marizza B. Grande, Assistant National Statistician (ANS) for Civil Registration Service of PSA, alongside Mr. Guillermo M. Lipio, Jr., OIC-Regional Director (RD) of PSA Caraga; Ms. Cristina O. Callao, UniSys Regional Operations Lead (ROL) for Mindanao; and Mr. Demetrio T. Dejolde, Jr., Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) of PSA Agusan del Sur. Special guests included Ms. Josephine B. Ambongan, Chief of Staff representing the Governor of Agusan del Sur, and Hon. Socorro Inson, Sangguniang Bayan Member representing the Municipal Mayor of San Francisco.
Adding cultural significance to the ceremony, the Kaliyagan Dance Troupe from the Philippine Normal University (PNU) Mindanao Campus performed a traditional dance, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Agusan del Sur. This performance highlighted the province’s deep-rooted traditions and emphasized the importance of inclusivity in civil registration services. The newly opened CRS Outlet is particularly dedicated to serving the indigenous peoples and vulnerable sectors of Agusan del Sur, ensuring that even the most marginalized communities have easier access to essential civil documents.
Ms. Josephine B. Ambongan, Chief of Staff of the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS), became the first client of the CRS Outlet, attesting to the seamless processing of civil registry documents. Representing the entire population of Agusan del Sur, her participation underscored the commitment of PSA to deliver civil registration services equitably to all, regardless of background or social status. Her transaction served as a testament to the agency’s dedication to making civil registry services accessible and inclusive for everyone.
The blessing of the establishment was officiated by Rev. Fr. Roberto Noel B. Rosas, Order of Carmelites. This solemn ceremony emphasized the importance of the CRS Outlet as a pillar of service and progress for the community. The blessing symbolized a commitment to integrity, efficiency, and compassion in providing essential civil registration services. It reinforced the government’s mission to serve the people with dedication and fairness, ensuring that all citizens, especially those in vulnerable sectors, can access their vital records with ease and dignity.
The CRS Outlet is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding holidays, with a payment acceptance cut-off at 4:00 PM. At present, clients can conveniently access services as walk-in applicants, with no prior appointment required.
