The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) continues to be implemented across the country. This project aims to help the marginalized in securing their birth registration and assist them in registering to Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). This project has benefited a number of individuals for they can now present birth certificates as proof of legal identity, which allows them to claim social services.
11 October 2024, Barangay Imee, Basilisa, Dinagat Islands - The Philippine Statistical Office (PSO) – Dinagat Islands in collaboration with the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) – Basilisa, Dinagat Islands is continuously conducting a mobile registration to attain a higher number of birth registration in the province. Registrants presented their respective documents together with the accomplished registration form for late registration of birth. Each registrant’s set of documentary requirements are thoroughly screened while being interviewed by the two (2) LCRO-Basilisa personnel including the Birth Registration Coordinator spearheaded by the Municipal Civil Registrar of LCRO-Basilisa. An overall total of thirty-five (35) applications for late registration of birth were reviewed, all are out-of-town registration. Nine (9) applications will be forwarded to other provinces or Provincial Statistical Office (PSOs) outside the region, one (1) application will be forwarded to province or Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) within the region and twenty-five (25) applications will also be forwarded to other municipalities within the province of Dinagat Islands. As of 11 October 2024, the municipality of Basilisa, Dinagat Islands has total of one thousand five hundred twenty-six (1,526) birth records that had been verified in the PSA Civil Registry System database, wherein one thousand three hundred fifty-six (1,356) of which have no birth record and were already issued omnibus certification.
