Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) implemented the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) in the country to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices specially in the marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous People, Muslim Filipinos’ and the poorest sector in the country and assist in securing free Certificate of Live Birth in Security Paper which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identity.
11 October 2024, Barangay Imee, Basilisa, Dinagat Islands – The Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Dinagat Islands in collaboration with the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Basilisa, Dinagat Islands had successfully awarded a total of 6 Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) in Security Paper (SECPA) under Birth Registration
Assistance Project (BRAP) to the 6 beneficiaries. The awarding was held at the barangay gym of Imee, Basilisa, Dinagat Islands. It was facilitated by the Local Civil Registry Office of Basilisa spearheaded by the Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR) Elma E. Bero with the representatives of the Barangay Officials of Imee. The successful awarding of Certificate of Live Birth in Security Paper is an indication of an efficient and effective implementation of the BRAP between the PSA and LGUs.
