The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) implemented the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) in the country to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) specially in the marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous People, Muslim Filipinos’ and the poorest sector in the country and assist in securing free Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) in Security Paper (SecPA) which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identity.
February 12-13 and 18-19, 2025 – Province of Dinagat Islands. The Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Dinagat Islands in collaboration with the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Basilisa had successfully awarded a total of One Hundred Forty-two (142) Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) in Security Paper (SecPA) to the BRAP beneficiaries. The awarding was facilitated by the Acting Municipal Civil Registrar Kirstie Blythe E. Bero with the LCRO-Basilisa Staff and the BRAP Coordinator as a representative of PSO-Dinagat Islands. The successful awarding is an indication of an efficient and effective implementation of the BRAP between the PSA and LGUs in the Province of Dinagat Islands.
