28 March 2025 – SOCORRO, SURIGAO DEL NORTE. In coordination with the Municipal Government of Socorro, 109 Certificates of Live Births in Security Paper  (SECPA)  were  awarded  to  beneficiaries  of  the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) in Sitio Kapihan, Barangay Sering, Municipality of Socorro.

BRAP is a joint project of PSA and Local Government Units through the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) that primarily aims to increase the rate of birth registration, especially among marginalized communities. This is a significant milestone that PSA prioritizes to ensure that all Filipino births are registered in the LCROs.

Most of the beneficiaries in Sitio Kapihan are of school-age. It is important for parents and guardians to obtain and maintain accurate birth certificate records to avoid potential issues during their child's education.
