The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has officially launched a groundbreaking collaboration between its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and the National ID Registration initiative on February 17, 2025. This partnership aims to provide a more efficient and accessible way for vulnerable families to secure their National IDs while continuing to receive essential government support.
The 4Ps program has long been a lifeline for low-income families, offering financial assistance for health, education, and nutrition to help break the cycle of poverty. However, many beneficiaries have faced challenges in obtaining a critical tool for accessing government services. To bridge this gap, DSWD and the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) have joined forces, integrating National ID registration into the monthly Family Development Sessions attended by 4Ps beneficiaries.
Through this initiative, mobile registration teams bring National ID services directly to communities, ensuring that eligible families especially those in remote and underserved areas can easily complete the process. This integration not only simplifies registration but also strengthens financial inclusion by enabling beneficiaries to access banking services, government aid, and other essential programs tied to the National ID system.
By streamlining the process, the partnership has reinforced trust between DSWD and the communities it serves, demonstrating a commitment to inclusive, accessible, and citizen-centered governance. This initiative marks a significant step toward empowering vulnerable families and ensuring that no Filipino is left behind in accessing vital government services.
