National ID Registration for Children 1 to 4 years old
29 August 2024 – SURIGAO DEL NORTE. The Philippine Statistics Authority Surigao del Norte continued efforts in implementing the inclusive identification system through PhilSys mobile registration for children ages one to four years old. This marks a significant step in ensuring that all Filipinos, regardless of age, have access to a reliable and secure form of identification.
To register a child one to four years old, a parent or guardian who is already registered with PhilSys must be present. A PhilSys Number (PSN) or permanent identification number will be assigned to the child and will be linked to the accompanying parent or guardian.
Once the demographic data has been verified, the child's front-facing photo will be taken. The complete biometric data, including fingerprints, iris scans, and an updated front-facing picture, will only be collected from the child when they are five years old.
PhilSys teams were deployed to various barangays throughout the province to make registration more accessible to Surigaonons. This initiative aims to reach out to communities, especially those in remote areas, and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to register for the National ID.
