2024 Popcen-CBMS kicks off with the Local Government Units of Surigao del Norte

15 July 2024 – The Philippine Statistics Authority Surigao del Norte begins the 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN) and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) field operations through courtesy visits to the local government units throughout the province of Surigao del Norte.

A total of 510 field personnel were employed for the undertaking. This includes 32 Census Area Supervisor and 76 Team Supervisors who will conduct field supervision, and 402 Enumerators who will conduct household data collection and geotagging.

The data collected will be utilized in updating the country’s population as well as the list of beneficiaries of social protection initiatives. It will also be used to target households in planning, formulating, and implementing programs and projects aimed at reducing poverty.

In line with this, PSA enjoins the LGUs, NGAs, other stakeholders, and the general public to participate in this undertaking by providing accurate and complete information to the authorized data collectors. The information collected shall be treated with utmost confidentiality as mandated under Section 26 (Confidentiality of Information) of Republic Act No. 10625.
