Philippine Statistics Authority Agusan del Sur Conducts 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System Household Data Collection and Geotagging Provincial Level Training

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Agusan del Sur Provincial Office conducts 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) Provincial Level Training from June 24 to 29, 2024. It aimed at giving the Census Area Supervisor (CAS) the information, abilities, and resources required to carry out precise and effective household surveys and geotagging operations across the province.

All participants in the training participated in a variety of talks and hands-on activities aimed at improving their skills in data collection, community involvement, program and tool utilization, and survey administration. Operations for validating data, methods for enumerating censuses, program navigation, and probable scenarios in executing POPCEN-CBMS operations were among the important subjects discussed.

Chief Statistical Specialist Demetrio T. Dejolde, Jr. gave a thorough overview and insight of the program's goals and key strategies for effective implementation. Senior Statistical Specialist Vic F. Notarion and Statistical Specialist II Ezra Taft Dimson Pino shared useful strategies, methods, and program utilization for effective data collection along with other experts in implementing the most effective and efficient methods for priming and equipping personnel on the field.

Participants were also given the opportunity to trade and share their issues and experiences from prior surveys, as well as their perspectives and knowledge on the subject to foster an environment conductive to collaborative learning and progress. This training was done in preparation for the City/Municipality Level Training, which will take place on July 1-6 for batch 1 and July 8-13 for batch 2.

The PSO Agusan del Sur field office team, along with the efforts and assistance of the PSA Central Office, contributed to the success of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Provincial Level Training.
