26 March 2025 – ALEGRIA, SURIGAO DEL NORTE. In collaboration with the 30th Infantry (Fight On) Battalion, PSA Surigao del Norte offered National ID services and assistance in requesting civil registry documents during the conduct of the Community Healing, Reconciliation, and Transformation Program in Barangay Ferlda, Municipality of Alegria. The initiative offers important psychosocial support and mental health services to help individuals and communities recover from the impacts of insurgency.
On 14 March 2025, the National ID registration teams of PSA Surigao del Norte provided services to the individuals and Mamanwa community in Barangay Ferlda, Municipality of Alegria. Registration for the National ID is a crucial step towards modernizing our national infrastructure and enhancing access to essential services.
A total of 29 registrants were catered to during the activity, where three are from the age 0 to 4 years old while 26 are from ages 5 and above. Most of the indigenous people living in the barangay have no requirements to register for the National ID; thus, the assistance from the Local Civil Registry Office comes into play. The National ID system aims to streamline transactions, improve security, and promote inclusivity by providing a reliable and verifiable form of identification to all Filipinos. It is vital that the registration process prioritize data privacy, security, and accessibility to ensure equitable participation and build public trust.
The success of these service initiatives lies not only in their volume and efficiency, but also in their ability to foster lasting, positive change that resonates with the community's aspirations and strengthens their capacity for self-governance and well-being.
