Expansion of National ID Registration to Include Children Aged One to Four Years in Agusan del Sur
16 July 2024 – Agusan del Sur. The Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Agusan del Sur is intensifying its efforts to register Agusanons to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), now including children aged one to four years old. This expanded initiative is part of our commitment to ensuring that every Filipino, regardless of age, is part of the national identification system.
"We encourage parents and guardians to join us in taking the step towards a makabagong Pilipinas for the next generation by registering their children ages one to four to PhilSys," said PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General. "The PSA is continually making efforts to make the registration process child-friendly; our registration personnel are ready to assist our young registrants and their parents in the process.”
Parents and guardians who are already PhilSys-registered are encouraged to bring their children to the nearest registration center. The child's PhilSys Number (PSN) or permanent identification number will be linked to the accompanying parent or guardian. To facilitate the registration, any of the following supporting documents must be presented to validate the child’s demographic information:
1. Certificate of Live Birth issued by the PSA or the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO)
2. Report of Birth issued by the PSA or Philippine Foreign Service Post (PFSP)
3. Certificate of Foundling issued by the PSA
4. Certificate of Foundling for Persons with No Known Parent/s issued by the PSA
5. Municipal Form No. 102
6. Philippine Passport or ePassport issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)
7. Any document showing the full name of the child, date and place of birth, the full name of the mother, and the full name of the father, if acknowledged.
Once the demographic information is validated, a front-facing photograph of the child will be captured. Complete biometric information, including fingerprints and an iris scan, will be captured when the child reaches the age of five, along with an updated front-facing photograph.
PSO Agusan del Sur continues to operate registration centers across the province, welcoming walk-in registrations. Additionally, mobile registration units are actively reaching out to residents in remote barangays and sitios of Agusan del Sur, ensuring that even the most geographically isolated and disadvantaged populations can participate in this initiative.
In our ongoing efforts, registration services are also extended to schools, registering students and minors aged five years old and above. Furthermore, during Family Development Sessions (FDS), 4Ps beneficiaries and their children can avail of PhilSys registration services, and identity verification.
