PSA Enjoins the Public to Support the Conduct of July 2024 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2024 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS)

The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office XIII (Caraga), including its five provinces, will conduct the July 2024 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and the 2024 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS). In line with this, the PSA encourages everyone, especially the sample households, to support and cooperate in the conduct of the July 2024 LFS and 2024 APIS. The data collection will be undertaken from 08 to 31 July 2024 in all provinces. Caraga has a regional sample of approximately 2,112 eligible households deemed sufficient to provide regional and provincial level estimates. Further, a total of 49 Statistical Researchers, Team Supervisors, and Field Office Personnel will be involved in the survey, which employs an integrated Computer-Aided Data Collection System (CADaCS).

The LFS is a monthly household survey that measures the country's current labor market and is used to calculate national and regional employment and unemployment rates. This July 2024 LFS round will be used to quantify the continuing effect of the pandemic crisis on labor and employment in the country. The APIS, on the other hand, is the fifteenth in a series of poverty indicators survey conducted nationwide since 1998 and is a rider annual household survey (except in years when the Family Income and Expenditure Survey is conducted) that can be used to generate non-income-related poverty indicators for monitoring the poverty situation in the country. It also serves as one of the basis for the policies and programs formulation to improve the living conditions of the population. Moreover, data from July 2024 LFS and APIS 2024 will be used to monitor selected indicators for Sustainable Development Goals (Goals 1, 6, and 16).

All information collected by the field personnel from the sample households shall be kept strictly confidential and shall not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation, or regulation as stipulated under Article 55 of RA 10625.
