PSA Agusan del Sur conducted a Third Level Training for the November 2023 Redesigned Crops Production Survey (CrPS)
One of the main agricultural surveys carried out by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is the Crops Production Survey. The purpose of this survey is to determine production volumes, areas planted and harvested, the number of bearing trees, hills, and vines, as well as farmgate prices, for subnational and national crops other than corn and palay.
Starting in the third quarter of 2023, the new sampling design for CrPS will be implemented as per approved PSA Board Resolution No. 14, Series of 2023 entitled, “Approving and Adopting the New Sampling Design of the Crops Production Survey”. With province serving as the domain, the new sample design uses two distinct sampling designs for household-based and establishment-based.
On November 16, 2023, a third-level training for the Redesigned Crops Production Survey was held at the training room of the Philippine Statistical Office – Agusan del Sur. Six (6) enumerators participated in the training, which was led by Assistant Statistician Argie S. Gortifacion. The final ten (10) days of the month comprise the field operation reference period, which includes 11 establishments and 471 sample households for Agusan del Sur.
The one-day training equipped the team supervisors and enumerators with essential knowledge and necessary skills for the successful conduct of the survey.
