PSA Agusan del Sur conducted a Third Level Training for the 4th Quarter Backyard Livestock and Poultry Survey (BLPS)

One of the main agricultural surveys carried out by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is the Backyard Livestock and Poultry Survey. BLPS aims to generate primary data on inventory, population, and supply, and disposition of animals from the household level. Specifically, the survey gears to generate information on inventory, number of births/hatched live, deaths and losses, sold live for slaughter and sold live for other purposes, slaughtered or dressed in the household, average live weight of disposed, slaughtered or dressed animals, and eggs laid yesterday by chicken and  duck laying flocks.

In the province of Agusan del Sur, six (6) statistical researchers (SRs) were involved in the conduct of the 4th Quarter 2023 data collection of BLPS with a total of 260 sample households. The hired SRs attended a one-day training on November 29, 2023, at the PSO-ADS training room, headed by Assistant Statistician Argie S. Gortifacion. Right after, the field data collection was conducted for ten (10) days, from December 1 to 10, 2023.

All the information collected by the hired Statistical Researchers from sample farmers shall be kept strictly confidential and shall not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or regulation as provided under Article 55 of RA 10625.
