The Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Agusan del Sur recently conducted a refresher training on basic statistics to empower its employees in data management and enhance their understanding of key statistical concepts. Statistical Specialist II Ezra Taft Dimson Pino served as the resource speaker, leading an informative and interactive session focused on vital areas of statistical practice.
The session covered essential topics, beginning with a review of statistical inquiry and the classification of various types of variables. SS II Pino emphasized the importance of understanding these variables and selecting the correct data collection methods. .
Further enriching the session, Mr. Pino discussed foundational principles in data management, providing strategies for institutionalizing effective data management within local government units (LGUs). He highlighted the role of data governance in effective decision-making and underscored its impact on policy, planning, and public service delivery.
