Provincial Statistical Office of Agusan del Sur Successfully Convened the Municipal Community-Based Monitoring System Coordinating Board of LGU Loreto
In a groundbreaking collaboration between the Provincial Statistical Office of Agusan del Sur and the Municipal Planning and Development Office of LGU Loreto, a meeting was convened on March 8, 2024, at Microtel, Loreto, Agusan del Sur. The gathering brought together key stakeholders, including barangay officials, heads of LGU offices, and representatives from concerned National Agencies, to lay the groundwork for the implementation of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS).
Led by Senior Statistical Specialist (SrSS) Vic F. Notarion, the discussion covered the essential concepts of the 2024 CBMS and outlined the roles and responsibilities of each member of the Municipal CBMS Coordinating Board. SrSS Notarion also highlighted the financial aspect of 2024 CBMS, emphasizing that the project would be fully funded by the National Government. However, in recognition of the potential need for supplementary support, SrSS Notarion presented a comprehensive list of areas where assistance from the LGU would be invaluable.
During the meeting, each member of the board received a matrix outlining these areas, prompting fruitful deliberations on potential contributions or support for the 2024 CBMS. Demonstrating unity and commitment, the Barangay Captains unanimously expressed their eagerness to provide full support for the conduct of the 2024 CBMS. Pledging to ensure quality.

On another front, Statistical Specialist II Flordeliz Cagalitan presented an operational map that will be utilized during future censuses and surveys conducted by the PSA. Her presentation shed light on the coverage of the map of LGU Loreto, uncovering boundary conflicts between barangays and neighboring provinces and municipalities. Following the presentation, all barangay captains endorsed the operational map proposed by the PSA, with plans to create a resolution officially adopting it.
This collaborative effort marks a significant milestone in the journey toward harnessing data for informed decision-making and sustainable development in Agusan del Sur. As the 2024 CBMS implementation takes shape, it is evident that through partnerships and collective action, meaningful progress can be achieved for the betterment of communities.
