Convening of the Municipal Coordinating Board in the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Veruela for the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS)

The Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Agusan del Sur, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) Veruela, actively participated in the Municipal CBMS Coordinating Boards (MCCB) convening held at the Kalahi Hall in Veruela, Agusan del Sur on 12 February 2024.

Senior Statistical Specialist (SrSS) Vic F. Notarion of PSO Agusan del Sur took the lead during the session, serving as the vice chair of the board. SrSS Notarion meticulously outlined the objectives of the 2024 CBMS, highlighting its extensive scope and coverage to all attendees. During the session, Municipal

Planning and Development Coordinator, Engr. Gil Salise, emphasized the critical issue of boundary conflicts. He requested the PSO to present the operational map in the presence of all department heads and Barangay Captains before the commencement of enumeration activities. This proactive approach aimed to address potential challenges and ensure a smooth and accurate data collection process.

A pivotal point of discussion was the financial aspect of the 2024 CBMS, which will be fully funded by the National Government. However, recognizing the need for supplementary support, SrSS Notarion presented a list of possible areas where assistance from the LGU is required. Each member of the board received a matrix outlining these areas, prompting them to deliberate on their potential contributions or support for the 2024 CBMS.

In a show of unity and commitment, the Barangay Captains in attendance expressed their unanimous agreement and eagerness to provide full support for the conduct of the 2024 CBMS. Recognizing the significant impact they can make; they pledged to ensure quality assurance and assist in enumeration activities within their respective areas.
