06 March 2025 – SURIGAO CITY. The Provincial Statistics Committee of Surigao del Norte convened for the First Quarter Meeting of the calendar year 2025. The meeting focused on updates of the statistical framework by discussing initiatives to ensure reliable data access to improve data driven governance and service delivery. 

The PSC meeting was held at the PPDO Conference Room, Surigao City, on 04 March 2025. Committee members attended the session, which was presided over by PSC Vice-Chairperson OIC Virgilio G. Avelina, Jr. of PSA Surigao del Norte, in lieu of the PSC Chairperson. Topics discussed and presented in the new business include the following: 

• Provincial Product Accounts, 2021-2023 

• Updates on 2024 Provincial Product Accounts 

• PSA-LGU Data Sharing for Business Registers Projects (PLDS
  BRP) Updates 

• 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Updates 

Moreover, Ms. Marieta S. Pareja, representative from the Provincial Planning and Development Office, presented the PSC 2024 Accomplishments and 2025 Work Program. She also raised the approval of the resolution regarding the inclusion of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Agrarian Reform as members of the Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC). 

The conduct of quarterly PSC meetings reaffirms the unwavering commitment of its members to collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening statistical activities in the province, ultimately contributing to its sustainable development and progress.
