Quarterly Aquaculture Survey (QAqS) and Quarterly Inland and Fisheries Survey (QIFS) 4th Quarter 2023
 

The 3rd level training of QAqS and QIFS conducted on November 15, 2023 at PSO- Agusan del Sur. The training was attended by six (6) enumerators and spearheaded by Assistant Statistician Argie S. Gortifacion. The field operation reference period is on November 16-24, 2023 with a total of 131 and 85 sample households for QAqS and QIFS, respectively.

Fisheries is one of the economic sectors of the country. The Quarterly Aquaculture Survey (QAqS) serves as the activity that gathers information on volume and price of species harvested in the aquafarms. The Quarterly Inland Fisheries Survey (QIFS) serves as the activity that gathers information on volume and price of species caught by inland fishing households.

It is crucial that all personnel involved in the collection, processing, and analysis of the QAqS and QIFS survey data understands the strategies and procedures to ensure the quality of data collected, completeness and consistency. The survey data will be used to generate volume and value of both inland fisheries and aquaculture production by type, species and quarter at the provincial, regional, and national levels.

The training gave the enumerators the essential information and skills to conduct the survey successfully.
