The Philippine Statistics Authority -Caraga registered a total of 187 members of the Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) during the series of Kalinga Alay sa Katutubo: NCIP – Caraga Service Caravan for Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples of Agusan del Norte held in different hard – to reach areas in Agusan del Norte. It was spearheaded by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and participated by other government agencies and stakeholders.
The caravan with the theme: “Access to Basic Services for the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) of Agusan del Norte” helped in bringing government agencies, local government units and other sectors closer to our ICCs/IPs especially those residing in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs).
Services also include legal consultation, medical and dental check-up, distribution of over-the-counter medicines and vitamins, distribution of goods to IPs children and other basic services.
A total of eight (8) service caravans were conducted all over Agusan del Norte with schedules and venues as follows:
In support to the caravan, PSA Caraga conducted the PhilSys Mobile Registration for the beneficiaries and installed booths to cater registrants from the communities. Aside from the registration booth, PSA personnel also distributed flyers for CRS Online Appointment System and assisted in the giving of requirements and answering queries on civil registration.
