The Philippine Statistics Authority will conduct the July 2021 Round of Palay Production Survey (PPS) and Corn Production Survey (CPS) simultaneously in all provinces of the region this coming July 1-10, 2021.The production data generated from the survey are direct inputs to the Performance Report in Agriculture and Fisheries and to the computation of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Moreover, the said reports support the data needs of planners, policy and decision makers, and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector especially palay and corn farmers and the general public. 

Palay and Corn Production Survey are quarterly activities conducted by PSA to generate estimates on palay and corn production, area planted/harvested, yield and other production-related data at the provincial level. The data collection involves gathering of data through face-to-face paper and pencil interview (PAPI) by hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) and/or PSA regular staff. Prior to the field operation, training/orientation of hired SRs will be conducted in all Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs) to assure uniform understanding of concepts used in the survey during the data collection and processing. Likewise, PSOs will ensure that the hired SRs and/or Field Supervisors are practicing required health protocols. 

All information collected by the hired Statistical Researchers from sample farmers shall be kept strictly confidential and shall not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or regulation as provided under Article 55 of RA 10625.
