The Provincial Statistical Office of Agusan del Norte conducted the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Merged Provincial and City/Municipal Level Training on CBMS Form 5-Geotagging and Processing of Service Institutions and Infrastructures, and Government Projects on 10-13 October 2023 at Balanghai Hotel and Convention Center, Butuan City. This training is intended for LGU-Funded municipalities, which include Buenavista, Carmen, Jabonga, Kitcharao, Las Nieves, Magallanes, Nasipit, Santiago, and Tubay.

CBMS refers to an organized technology-based system of collecting, processing, and validating necessary disaggregated data that may be used for planning, program implementation, and impact monitoring at the local level while empowering communities to participate in the process. Part of the data collection process in the CBMS implementation is the conduct of geotagging-related activities of service institutions, infrastructures, and government projects. Collected data will be used to generate thematic and strategic maps, serving as practical tools to develop programs for economic development and poverty alleviation.

Personnel coming from nine (9) LGUs, which comprises 12 Map Data Collectors, nine (9) Map Data Processors, and nine (9) Map Data Reviewers together with the Provincial Map Data Reviewer of PSO were equipped with the conceptual knowledge and technical skills in preparation for the actual geotagging and processing of the said project. Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators and other staff from LGUs also attended the four-day activity.
