The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) issues memorandum Circular No. 2022-14 dated 6 July 2022 enjoining all agencies of the government, local government units, academic institutions, state universities and colleges, and the private sector at the national and subnational levels to actively participate in and support the celebration of the 33rd National Statistics Month (NSM) and the conduct of the 15th National Convention on Statistics (NCS) in October 2022.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has rebased the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all income households to base year 2018, from base year 2012, The methodology of rebasing the CPI to base year 2018 was approved by the PSA Board through the PSA Board Resolution No. 15 Series of 2021.
The Philippine Statistics Authority is conducting the Crops Production Survey (CrPS) for second quarter 2021 round on May 15-24, 2021. The CrPS is one of the regular surveys conducted quarterly. It covers more than 280 crops sub-classified under three commodity groupings, namely: Non-Food and Industrial Crops; Fruit Crops; and Vegetables and Root Crops. It aims to generate production estimates on crops other than palay and corn at the national, regional and provincial levels disaggregation. It has production, area planted/harvested and number of bearing trees/hills/vines as unit of analysis.
The economy of Caraga contracted by 7.2 percent in 2020 compared with the 5.4 percent growth in 2019. The top three contributors to decline in 2020 were Construction, which dropped by 32.9 percent; Transportation and storage at -26.8 percent; and Mining and quarrying at -11.5 percent.

The PSA RSSO XIII prepares for the 2021 Updating of the List of Establishments (ULE). The List of Establishments (LE) is a comprehensive statistical business register that guides the private sector in its marketing plans and strategies. The primary objective of the updating is to provide a reliable directory of establishments that will be used as a statistical frame for establishment-based surveys and censuses. It also aims to capture the changes in the distribution and characteristics of establishment business units. The listing operation will start on 10 May 2021.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is conducting the 2021 Quarterly Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (QSPBI). The 2021 QSPBI provides quarterly data for each of the identified leading industry major groups in all sectors of the economy, except those in agriculture, forestry and fishing sector. The QSPBI collects data on employment, compensation, value of production (for mining and quarrying and manufacturing sectors only), total revenue, total inventory of goods, and capacity utilization. The data collected will be used in the generation of the Quarterly National Accounts (QNA) and in the construction of Quarterly Economic Indices (QEI) which measure the performance of the Philippine Economy.
The Philippine Statistics Authority will conduct the April 2021 Round of Palay Production Survey (PPS) and Corn Production Survey (CPS) simultaneously in all provinces of the region this coming April 1-10, 2021. The production data generated from the survey are direct inputs to the Performance Report in Agriculture and Fisheries and to the computation of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Moreover, the said reports support the data needs of planners, policy and decision makers, and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector especially palay and corn farmers and the general public.
The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office XIII (Caraga) will conduct the April 2021 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and rider questions under the UN Women project. Caraga had a regional sample of approximately 2,112 housing units deemed sufficient to provide regional level estimates. Forty-eight (48) Statistical Researchers and Field Personnel will be involved in the region employing an integrated Computer-Aided Data Collection System (CADaCS) for the survey.
One of the continuing surveys conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is the Quarterly Fisheries Survey. The survey aims to generate volume and value of production on Commercial Fisheries, Marine Municipal Fisheries, Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture production by species and by quarter at the national, regional and provincial level. The statistics generated through the conduct of quarterly fisheries surveys serves as an input to the compilation of national accounts, estimation of performance of agriculture, researches and studies, policy making and program implementation.
