Registered Marriages, Caraga: 2018

The number of marriages in 2018 has a total of 12,569. Registered marriages showed an erratic trend from 2009 to 2018, with noticeable varying of figures in 2010 to 2011 and 2017 to 2018. The recorded total number of marriages increased by 9.2 percent from 11,508 in 2017 to 12,569 in 2018.

Registered Live Births, Caraga: 2018

The registered live births in Caraga has an erratic trend in 2008 to 2018. It showed an increasing number from 2008 to 2010. However, it went down by 0.46 percent from 38,514 in 2010 to 38,336 in 2011. It surged again from the years 2012 to 2016 except in the year 2013. It decreases by 1.6 percent from 2016 to 2017 then it went down by 1.7 percent in 2017 to 2018. However, this does not mean that the number of babies born born in the region is on a decline, as some may have not yet been registered during the reglementary period of 30 days after the event occurred.

Maternal Health Care in Caraga: 2017

Overall, 96.0 percent of women age 15-49 years old in the region received Antenatal care (ANC) from a skilled provider for their most recent birth (Figure 1). Skilled providers include doctors, nurses, and midwives. Midwives were the most common service providers (60.7 percent), followed by doctors (21.9 percent), and nurses (12.5 percent). Only 1.6 percent of women did not receive any ANC.

Urban Population in Caraga

In 2015, the level of urbanization or the percentage of population residing in urban areas in Caraga was recorded at 33.5 percent. This translates to a total of 869,195 persons residing in barangays classified as urban. In 2010, the urban population was only 27.5 percent.

Registered Deaths in Caraga: 2018

The number of registered deaths in Caraga from 2009 to 2018 showed an increasing trend except in the year 2017. The increase during the ten-year period is 50.0 percent from 10,231 in 2009 to 15,348 in 2018. Reported deaths in 2018 have an increase of 2.81 percent from the previous year's deaths of 14,928.

Caraga's Migration Experiences and Intentions

Of all sample households in Caraga, 5.4 percent had a member who was or had been an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW). At the time of the survey, 5.9 percent of all households had at least one member who was currently out of the country at the time of the survey. Very few households (2.0%) had members who used to live in the household in the past five years but are now living permanently abroad (emigrants).

Fisheries Production in Caraga 2017-2019

This publication presents the data on volume and value of production of fisheries in Caraga during the three-year period. It contains information by major species of the three (3) fisheries subsectors, namely: commercial, municipal and aquaculture fisheries. It shows the fisheries statistics from the four (4) fisheries surveys regularly conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). The surveys are: Quarterly Commercial Fisheries Survey (QCFS), Quarterly Municipal Fisheries Survey (QMFS), Quarterly Inland Fisheries Survey (QIFS) and Quarterly Aquaculture Survey (QAqS).

Corn Production in Caraga 2017-2019

The region's corn production in 2019 recorded a total volume of 135,727 MT which showed 0.07 percent increase from the 135,627 MT output in 2018. The increase in production was attributed to the increase in area from the previous year’s level of 36,699 hectares to 37,817 hectares. However, yield per hectare declined from 3.70 MT per hectare in 2018 to 3.59 MT per hectare in 2019 (Table 1).

Women in the Labor Force

The result of the Labor Force Survey (LFS) conducted in July 2019 shows the economic participation of women in Caraga. Of the 1,232 thousand labor force population 15 years and over in the region, 466 thousand or 37.8 percent were women. This posted an increase of 0.2 percentage point compared with 447 thousand women in July 2018.
