Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing Establishments in Caraga

This report presents data on Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing establishments based on the results of the 2018 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI). Industry Section A (Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing) includes ten industry groups covering the activities on exploitation of vegetal and animal natural resources, comprising the activities of growing crops, raising and breeding of animals, harvesting of timber and other plants, animals or animal products from a farm or their natural habitats. This section also includes support activities to agriculture and post-harvest activities.

Business and Industry Establishments in Caraga: Economy-Wide

This report highlights the results of the 2018 Census of Philippine Business and Industry for all establishments which are classified under the three major economic sectors, namely: Agriculture, Industry, and Services.

In 2018, the total number of establishments in the formal sector in Caraga region reached 12,345. This was around 4.0 times of the 3,056 establishments recorded in 2012.

Summary Inflation Report Consumer Price Index in Caraga (2012=100): November 2020

In November 2020, Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all items in Caraga region increased by 2.5 percent from 120.5 in November of last year to 123.5 in November 2020. All of the commodity groups recorded an increment in indices compared last year. Also, CPI for the reference period slightly inclined by 0.1 percent from 123.4 in October 2020. Majority of the commodity groups showed higher index compared with previous month except for Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels; Transport; Communication; and Restaurants and Miscellaneous Goods and Services commodity groups.

Summary Inflation Report Consumer Price Index in Caraga (2012=100): October 2020

Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all items in Caraga region registered at 123.4 in October 2020 which implies that the price of a basket of goods was 23.4 percent higher in 2012 (base year). Also, CPI (all items) in October 2020 increased by 3.1 percent from 119.7 CPI in October of the previous year. All of the commodity groups recorded an increment in indices compared last year.

Registered Deaths in Caraga: 2019

The number of registered deaths in Caraga from 2015 to 2019 showed an increasing trend except in the year 2017. The increase during the five-year period is 13.64 percent from 14,387 in 2015 to 16,350 in 2019. Reported deaths in 2019 have an increase of 6.52 percent from the previous year’s deaths of 15,348.

Registered Live Births, Caraga: 2019

Registered live births in Caraga for 2019 reached a total of 43,574. It has an erratic trend from the Years 2015 to 2019. It showed an increasing number from 2015 to 2016. However, it went down by 2.92 percent from 44,135 in 2016 to 42,848 in 2018. It surged again from 42,848 in 2018 to 43,574 in 2019 having an increase of 1.69 percent.

Caraga’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all items in September 2020 registered a higher index of 123.2 from 119.4 in September of the previous year. All of the commodity groups showed an increasing index during the reference month compared last year. Similarly, September 2020 CPI (all items) rose up by 0.1 percent from 122.9 in August 2020 to 123.2 in September 2020. January 2020 Labor and Employment Status: Caraga Region

Of the estimated 1,795 thousand population 15 years old and over in January 2020, the labor force population or the number of persons who were in the labor force was reported at 1,162 thousand, that is, either employed or unemployed. This translates to a labor force participation rate (LFPR) of 64.8 percent. Of the total labor force in the region, the males accounted for 63 percent (732 thousand) while females comprised 37.0 percent (430 thousand).
