The Caraga Regional Development Council (RDC) headed by Acting Chairperson, NEDA Regional Director Atty. Bonifacio G. Uy, confirmed the membership of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) along with other 11 agencies/offices as special non-voting members of the Council.
The confirmation of membership was done during the Council’s reorganizational meeting on August 23, 2019 at NEDA Conference Hall, J. Rosales Avenue, Butuan City. Also confirmed were the 12 private sector representatives as regular members of the Council.
Attendees during the meeting were the regular members of the Council composed of the local chief executives (newly elected provincial governors, city mayors, and selected municipal mayors), regional directors of government agencies, private sector representatives, and special non-voting members. In behalf of PSA Regional Director, Dr. Rosalinda C. Apura, the meeting was attended by SSS Presa P. Villarina.
PSA is the newest special non-voting member of the Council. As a member, the PSA could promote and explain the role of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) especially during the Council’s meetings and conferences.
The Council recognizes the importance of statistics to make evidence-based and informed decision-making. It is the highest policy-making body in the region that coordinates and sets the direction of all economic and social development efforts in the region. (Contributed by: Presa P.
