The Consumer Expectations Survey (CES) is a household-based survey on the consumers’ assessment of their family income, financial situation, and the economic condition of the country. It is conducted on a quarterly basis and administered on a sample basis at the household level. It is a joint undertaking between the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). The PSA’s responsibility is to undertake the data collection and encoding of the questionnaires while generation of tables and analysis of the results for the BSP. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office XIII (Caraga) will conduct the April 2017 Labor Force Survey (LFS) from April 8 to 30, 2017. The LFS is a nationwide quarterly survey of households conducted by the PSA to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. Aside from the data on palay and corn, the Philippine Statistics Authority also gathers information on the production of other crops. Other crops sub-sector includes three commodity groups namely: Fruits, Vegetables and Non-food and Industrial Commercial Crops (NFICC). It covers more than 200 crops in 82 provinces nationwide which, nineteen (19) of these commodities were highlighted in the report of the Performance of Agriculture. Farm Price Survey (FPS) is one of the regular monthly activities of the Philippine Statistics Authority. The general purpose of the activity is to gather reliable price information at the farm level. This information will serve as input for developing sets of price indices and to measure the purchasing power of growers of selected agricultural product. It also aid in analyzing the seasonal trends and variations in agricultural prices and will help in forecasting future supply, demand and prices of agricultural commodities. Further, it will assist policy makers in the formulation, implementation and administration of economic programs and guide farmers/raisers in their decision making relative to their agricultural activities geared towards profitability. Palay and Corn Stock Survey (PCSS1) is a regular monthly activity conducted by Philippine Statistics Authority. Primarily, it intends to generate estimates of the recent stock of rice and corn in the households. This activity is in coordination with National Food Authority who collects data of existing stock holdings in NFA depositories and commercial warehouses. The occurrence of typhoons and other natural calamities which usually affect local production compels the regular monitoring of stock situation of staple food to ensure supply stability, accessibility and price stability.
