In March 2021, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all items in Caraga region was registered at 128.1 index points. This indicates that the average retail price of commodities that were included in the market basket for all goods and services during the month under review was higher by 28.1 percent compared to its prices in 2012 as reference base year. The economy of Caraga contracted by 7.2 percent in 2020 compared with the 5.4 percent growth in 2019. The top three contributors to decline in 2020 were Construction, which dropped by 32.9 percent; Transportation and storage at -26.8 percent; and Mining and quarrying at -11.5 percent.
